As much as I love music, I have discovered that sometimes I need something a little more interesting to listen to while commuting to and from work. Recently I have listened to a couple podcasts and audio books that I have enjoyed so much that I wanted to share! Depending on what I decide to listen to it can motivate me for the day better than music. The things I listen to still tend to be pretty light when it comes to subject matter and incorporate plenty of humor. However most of them kind of have #girlboss vibes. Sorry if that phrase is overused I just wasn’t sure how else to sum them up!
- How to Be a Bawse by Lilly Singh- This is the one audio book on the list and it is probably the most motivational out of all of my listening suggestions! Lilly knows how to deliver her message in a way that is funny, relatable, and knowledgeable at the same time. Hearing about how she created a career out of her presence on Youtube and how she manages her life is very intriguing and inspires me to make better use out of my free time.
- Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe- Kaitlyn is from the Bachelor franchise but through this podcast I feel like I have learned more about some meaningful things she is involved in. There is plenty of reality tv talk on it but there is also a good mix of topics such as body image. Kaitlyn does have a raunchy sense of humor but that doesn’t bother me!
- The Lady Gang– This podcast is hosted by 3 women which makes it interesting because you get to here different view points. Just like the audio book and other podcast there is good humor on this one too! I have only listened to 2 of their episodes so far but one was about how social media affects careers and working in the social media industry. The other one was about hormones.
There are plenty of other things I could listen to while commuting that are moe educational, but I still feel like I learn enough, am entertained by, and am motivated by these enough to make my time spent in the car not feel like a complete waste.
If you aren’t a podcast or audio book person I also made yet another playlist if you would like to check it out! It’s a throwback playlist (well, if you’re around my age it can be considered throwback).
If you have to drive a ways to work like me, I hope these suggestions help your daily commuting be more enjoyable!
