It’s now been a couple months since I moved and I just wanted to check in to say that I LOVE my new place! It’s smaller and in an area that isn’t as “nice” (at least by most people’s standards). However, those things actually are contributing factors to why I like this place better.
While a lot of people like a home with more space, I’m at a stage in life where I don’t have enough belongings to fill a large space and I don’t have the budget to go buy a bunch more items to fill that space. My new space may be smaller but I find the space a lot more functional than the last apartment I lived in. It also has better finishings. I grew up in an older home so I’ve always appreciated livings areas with cool details. A nice back splash or the shape of the windows probably impresses me a little too much.
I had intended to make my last apartment cute but it just never really happened. I always made the excuse that I was saving up for my car but looking back I also just never really had a vision for it. Now, for my current space I actually can picture exactly what I want to add. This my not seem like a big deal but for me my living space and neighborhood has decent affect on my mood.
So this brings me to part of this post where I share my vision for my current apartment! (All images are linked to the product)
I can see a white clothing rack next to my dresser in my bedroom.
I can see a nice full length mirror in front of the breaker box in my bedroom.
I can see a bar cart next to my TV stand in my living room.
I can see a colorful wall hanging above that bar cart.
I can see the below type of rug under my coffee table.
I can see some printed orange and hot pink throw pillows to create a warm color theme in my living room.
I can see a chair in my living room for some additional seating.
I can see some gold accent decorations in both my bedroom and living room since it matches my color schemes.
It will take a while for me to pull this all together but that’s okay. I don’t mind the neighborhood, I like being fairly close to where I spend my weekends and I’ve always been a city girl at heart. I even don’t hate my commute. My next major financial goal in life is to buy property. With that in mind I hope to stay in this space until I can make that happen. That allows me to slowly make this place my own! I know I never really touched on why I like this neighborhood but I’ll touch on that in another post.
