Christmas is fast approaching and to be honest I haven’t really done much to get into the holiday spirit. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the holidays, I actually really love Christmas. I just haven’t been motivated to decorate since I live alone and I’m visiting family for a whole week around Christmas. The extent of my decorations are these little snowy trees my mom sent me. I’ve participated in some festive ugly sweater parties and watched some Hallmark movies but I wasn’t one of the people who started blasting Christmas music the day holiday drinks came out at Starbucks. I contemplated getting a real mini tree to put in my apartment but that just never ended up happening.
This past weekend I have stumbled upon a couple things that have put me in a slightly more festive mood. To my friends who have been going all out since November these things probably seem like nothing but for anyone who also lives alone and is traveling around around Christmas, I wanted to share things simple things that could make your holiday season just a little festive.
There is a Starbucks coffee stand at work so I’ve been getting the Holiday Blend drip coffee recently. What I just discovered though during my last grocery run is that the Christmas Blend comes in K Cup form! I drink coffee at home everyday so I was very excited to find this.
One of my favorites fashion bloggers, Olivia Rink, hosted a Christmas Party that she featured snapshots from on her Instagram story. Apparently people had been asking about some of the non-traditional music that was playing at this party, so she shared a screenshot of the songs. I decided to give these songs a listen. Despite how unconventional they are, I really enjoyed them. I like traditional Christmas music, but most of the time I need something that will pump me up more when I am casually listening to music. These Christmas songs both pump me up and put me in a festive mood. Check out the songs below.
