The other day I was able to go back to spin class for the first time since I had that special unlimited month at Lync! I had an opportunity to attend a free class a Zyn22 through Circle Seven Five. Since Lync was the first and only studio I had tried, I was excited to see how another studio was. I thought it would be fun to provide a little review of Zyn22 now that I have experienced a couple studios!
Music: I went to a 90’s theme spin class so the music was great! There were even some pretty cool remixes.
Space: I liked that the locker area was away from where you check in so you don’t feel like you are in everyone’s way. In the actual workout area I liked that each row of bikes was at a different elevation which made it easy to see the instructor. The lighting was also pretty good!
The Bike: Personally I wish their bikes had a screen that told you how fast you are going, the distance, and the resistance. I have a hard time knowing if I am going the correct pace so I like having an exact number to keep me accountable. Knowing my exact resistance is also helpful for me. This studio just had a knob that you twisted however many times the instructor told us for resistance. I like to know distance so I can set goals for myself. Some people may like the whole no numbers thing though if they prefer to workout just based off of how they feel.
The Workout: My heart rate definitely increased and I was sore the next day but for some reason I didn’t get very sweaty which usually happens in spin class…
Format: I’ve heard that some spin classes at other studios rank you against people in the class with you. I definitely appreciate that this studio doesn’t do that. I may like numbers but only for my own personal knowledge.
Merchandise: I didn’t buy anything but they have a bunch of cute merchandise you can purchase at the studio!
All in all I had a positive experience and I would return but people who like to work out based of of just how they feel will probably like it more than I did!
